The UK Domain by Nominet

Project Description

The UK Domain is the consumer-facing site of Nominet, the organisation responsible for .UK domains and the largest domain registry in the UK. The UK Domain site provides friendly and accessible advice on all aspects of setting up and running a website, both for small businesses and individuals.

I’ve been writing regular blog posts for the UK Domain since December 2016, with topics covering all aspects of being online. I’ve also written some longer ‘how to’ guides (such as this one), as well as guest posts for other publications. Each month, I’m given a brief for four or five blog posts so that I can supply content throughout the month.

Many of the posts I write are aimed at small businesses, providing advice and inspiration on subjects such as digital marketing, email, social media and web design. For individuals, topics have included personal branding, using the internet to get a job and how to start a blog. Whether writing for individuals or businesses, a user-friendly approach is paramount, as some readers will have little internet knowledge.

My background working in digital marketing agencies comes in really useful for my work with the UK Domain, which uses my existing knowledge as well as requiring plenty of research into the latest developments in the ever-changing world of the internet.

It’s always a pleasure to work with Rachel, she is friendly, approachable and has really taken the time to understand our tone, aims and style. It’s great knowing we can provide Rachel with a short brief at the beginning of the month and we’ll get a steady stream of great content.
