Content Audit
Find out whether you’re getting the most from your website and other content
Could your copy be working harder for your business?
A content audit looks through all the content on your website (and beyond, if you wish) to show you where there’s room for improvement. It’s a chance to take stock, systematically review your current assets and look for opportunities to:
a) Do more with what you’ve got
b) Fill in gaps by adding further content to help achieve your business goals
If you suspect your website could be better, and you’d like some actionable pointers on where to improve, a content audit is for you.
What to expect from a content audit
My content audits look at your content from all angles, including:
- Its clarity, readability and usefulness to readers – basically, is your content engaging?
- How consistently your tone of voice is applied – for example, are your deeper pages and microcopy in keeping with what’s on your homepage and other core pages?
- How well structured and formatted it is for both readers and search engines – does it meet web writing best practice guidelines? Could it be structured more effectively for easier navigation?
- How well it’s performing – which are your most and least popular pages, and how could the least popular ones be improved so that they do better?
- Spelling and grammar issues – don’t let these undermine your credibility!
- Duplication and outdated content – are there opportunities to combine existing pages that cover similar ground? Are there pages you no longer need, or that need updating?
- Missed opportunities – where could you add landing pages or other content types to bring further traffic to your website through SEO?
I’ll come up with detailed insights into your current content and an actionable list of how to improve it – all prioritised with the biggest wins first. You can then take this away to do with as you please, or I can work with you to implement my recommendations.
The cost for my content auditing service depends on the size of your website and how many other assets you’d like me to review (I can look at social media posts, email templates, offline assets – you name it), so if you’d like a quote, please get in touch!
